In 1933 no commercial workers compensation coverage was available for window cleaners in the Chicagoland area. The IABMC (originally the WCCA) was founded to fill the void.
Since that time our non-profit association has grown to serve a variety of building service and unarmed guard contractors.

The Illinois Association of Building Maintenance Contractors (IABMC) is proud to supply its members with workers’ compensation coverage that offers the potential for substantial return of premium dollars. It works like this: when the workers’ compensation program has a surplus of funds because member claims are low, the surplus is rebated to the members. Refunds have been made in 24 of the past 26 years, or what’s more, over the past 5 years members have enjoyed an average premium of 1.44% (based on payroll).
Savings vary depending on claims resolutions and may not be realized every year; any shortfalls are borne by the Association as a whole.
